Come Check Out These Flicks For The Week!

Must Monday:

Amsterdam (2022)

Nothing to DO but watch the 2022, right? Especially a movie that's directed by none other than David O. Russell, best known for directing iconic movies like American Hustle (2013), Silver Lining's Playbook (2012) and The Fighter (2010). This hit movie takes place in the 1930's giving a behind the scenes look of what crime and mystery was really like, especially the setups and traps that were set by criminal masterminds of the time. The iconic chemistry between Christian Bale as a Doctor and the son of one of the most badass actors, John David Washington as a Lawyer is outstandingly amazing and entertaining to watch as they both star as very good friends who go way back to war buddies in World War I trying to figure and solve the sudden murder of the sudden death of the daughter of the commander who they're looking at the autopsy for. The plot of this movie is very mysterious and puts you in a position of wondering and hoping what's to come next and the cast lineup this time was perfectly well made, especially with actors who only usually play in comedies now in serious roles, consisting of Christian Bale, John David Washington, Margot Robbie, Chris Rock, Robert De Niro, Mike Myers, Anya Taylor-Joy, Zoe Saldana, Taylor Swift, Michael Shannon, Rami Malek, Timothy Olymphant and other outstanding actors!

Terrible Tuesday:

Upgrade (2018)

Don’t get me wrong, watching movies that take place in the future tend to be amazing and time-predictive, but this Cyberpunk movie fails to reach and manage people’s expectations during certain movies. The movie starts off interesting following the murder of a man’s (Logan Marshall-Green) wife taking place in the future, this happens after their vehicle gets into an accident and leaves Logan paralyzed. Logan soon gets up after being inserted with a chip, named “Stem” that helps him gain the ability to move his whole body again, causing him to seek revenge on the people responsible for the death of his wife. This new chip doesn’t only help him move but it also quietly guides him in telling him what to do and controls the movements of his body, including the fighting. At one point, he starts to realize the harm that “Stem” is doing to him so he starts fighting for his life to find the criminals and go back to normal.

Wild Wednesday:

Predator (2018)

Following Predator (1987), with good old Arnie, the sequel and all the crazy remakes after, this is definitely a great flick to check out with an outstanding cast lineup including Boyd Holbrook, Thomas Jane (Punisher 2004), Keegan-Michael Key, Trevante Rhodes, Sterling K. Brown, Augusta Aguilera, Olivia Munn, Jacob Tremblay and Brince A. Prince as The Predator! The way this movie starts off and the direction it heads in is so unexpected! It follows an Army Sniper who ends up getting arrested and meets with Fugitives who are lucky to escape the prison bus with the help of this girl who seeks to take out the Predator as well but at first doesn’t trust this team. The “One-Ugly-Mothaf*****g” Predator is back at it abducting the son of the army sniper, due to his autism that sparks advancement in human evolution, certain scenes will definitely take you back to the original series not only with the famous quote “You’re One Ugly Motherf***a”! Currently streaming on Disney+!

Throwback Thursday:

Blow Out (1981)

The 80's consisted of so many good movies, no matter what genre or actor it consisted of. In this iconic movie, John Travolta stars as this sound engineer who's an expert in identifying a certain sound with the use of his tools and camera and these must come to use when he sees a car suddenly stumble off a bridge while recording sound effects. He jumps into save the girl who was being driven but finds the driver murdered so he's tried to help this girl regain consciousness and memory so he can try to find who's responsible for this attempted murder through the help of this girl and the essential need of his sound tools! John Travolta has always been that actor who's able to crush any role he's given whether it's a heroic or villainous role and his heroic role in this movie is what makes it so amazing and said to be one of his best movies! This cast consist of John Travolta, Robocop's Nancy Allen and Shrek's John Lithgow! This movie is definitely a 80's Gem to check out and currently streaming on HBO Max!

Funny Friday:

Happy Gilmore (1996)

Look, I know you guys all know about this movie and it’s extremely common and now that I brought it up, You Hate Me Don’t You? No, No, No!😂 That’s right, one of the funniest parts from the movie! Happy Gilmore is probably one of the funniest Adam Sandler movies that has him star as this pro-hockey player to this golf player who plays to help get his grandmother’s house back after she gets evicted. While he’s playing, he falls in love with this broadcaster and things start to get turned around with his temper while playing, especially against his rival Shooter McGavin, played by Christopher McDonald! Everyone has to know about this movie since it's probably the best and most funniest movies of the 1990's but for those who haven't seen this, you definitely have to check this one out for A LOT OF LAUGHS🤣 Currently streaming on Peacock!

Sequel Saturday:

Top Gun: Maverick (2022)

Once again, nothing to DO but watch the 2022! I'm pretty sure all of us don't know what to expect from a Sequel to such an Iconic movie that doesn't come out until 20-30 Years after the original, well there's no question needed to be asked because this Sequel to 1986's Top Gun is SO GOOD with Tom Cruise heading right back into the Danger Zone! That's right, Tom Cruise is back as the iconic Top Navy Aviator, Maverick mentoring this new team of Graduates! One of those new graduates is the son of his former fellow Navy friend, Goose, and now his son, played by Miles Teller, named Rooster is being trained for this next intense mission that Maverick will be helping them out with and preparing them as he's had a good experience in being the Navy's Top Aviator! I remember seeing this movie in the theaters when it just came out after desperately waiting as it was constantly getting delayed due to the COVID Pandemic, and I was nothing but amazed at how GOOD this movie turned out to be, it was definitely worth the wait! The Plot of this movie is great with good 80's callbacks and the cast consists of Tom Cruise, the Great Val Kilmer🙏, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Glen Powell, Jon Hamm, Ed Harris, Lewis Pullman, Jay Ellis, and Charles Parnell! Definitely 💯 a Must Check-Out! Currently streaming on Paramount+!

Super Sunday:

DC League of Super-Pets (2022)

What tends to be a Man’s Best Friend? That’s right, not only a dog or a pet, but a SUPER PET! This movie starts off with Superman leaving Planet Krypton with his new Best Friend, Krypto the Superdog!🐕 Since then, there friendship has grown to the fullest until Krypto meets these pets in the pet shop, Ace the Bat-hound, Terrific Whatzit and Lulu. He then soon realizes that his best friendship with Superman is about to split when he sees him hanging out with Lois Lane more and planning to propose to her which angers him and makes him feel more jealously left out. After a fight between the two, Superman gets captured leaving Krypto with no powers so he has no choice but to team up with the other pets and save Superman and the rest of the Justice League. Of course as always, this animated movie features an outstanding cast lineup including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Krypto the Superdog, Kevin Hart as Ace the Bat-Hound, Ben Schwartz as Mark, Kate McKinnon as Lulu, Natasha Lyonne as Terrific Whatzit. The human cast features John Krasinski as Superman, Keanu Reeves as Batman, Olivia Wilde as Lois Lane, Marc Maron as Lex Luthor, Jameela Jamil as Wonder Woman, Daveed Diggs as Cyborg, Jemaine Clement as Aquaman, John Early as Flash,  Dascha Palanco as Jessica Cruz, featuring Alfred Molina (Spider Man 2) as the voice of Jor-El!
