Cobra Kai/Spider Man

I’m going to do something a little bit different today, I usually do posts on movies but today will be my first post that’s related to a TV show and that show is one of Netflix’s hit TV series “Cobra Kai” which I think is such a great show to check out! For those of you who have watched the show, I know people have said that Robby seems to be very related to Anakin Skywalker when it comes to betraying your own team and joining the dark side, but I’ve noticed that there are some moments that seem to kind of connect to the original Spider Man (Raimi) movies since it’s like a similar storyline when it comes to betrayal and jealousy, so why not show who each character would represent and how it connects?

Season 1: Robby Keene: Peter Parker

Miguel Diaz: Harry Osborn

Samantha LaRusso: Mary Jane

I know Robby Keene doesn’t start off as the total main character as compared to Peter Parker but these two characters seem to share the same situation in the first season just like the first Spider Man movie. In Spider Man (2002), Peter and Harry both have a crush on Mary Jane, but she was currently with Flash until their graduation. This leads to Harry giving it a shot with her and then they start dating, and Peter jumps in between to start talking with MJ since she knows he takes pictures of Spider Man and then this leads to MJ beginning to fall in love with Peter and this has Harry thinking that she’s cheating on him with MJ, so this kind of starts to crumble up Peter and Harry’s friendship. In Cobra Kai, after Sam breaks up with Kyler, Miguel starts to fall in love with Sam so then he asks her out and then they start going out. A little bit after, Robby meets Sam and then Miguel plans to introduce himself to Daniel Larusso, despite knowing he might hate him for being in Cobra Kai, but he then finds Robby eating dinner with the Larusso’s and then this is what leads Miguel to thinking that Sam is cheating on him with Robby. Miguel keeps that thought in his head until he catches Robby and Sam walking together to a party that Cobra Kai throws at the beach, and then this is when a small confrontation between Miguel and Robby start and this leads to Sam getting upset and breaking up with Miguel.

Season 2 and 3:

Tory Nichols: Eddie Brock

You guys might be wondering “What does this have to do with Spider Man 2?” It doesn’t really associate much with it, but it rather has a better connection with the 3rd movie. In Spider Man 2, Harry focused more on trying to kill Spider Man until he discovered the true identity, but Spider Man 3 is when Harry started getting more aggressive when it came to getting revenge on Peter for the thought of him killing his father. On the other hand, Eddie Brock is a man whose goal is to work with the Daily Bugle to impress his love-interest, Gwen Stacy. His plans get ruined when Peter (Black-Suited) rats him out for fake pictures which leads to him getting fired and that’s what fills him with rage and revenge. In Cobra Kai Season 2, Robby and Sam start dating after her and Miguel’s breakup, but Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai all go to a party together towards the end of season 2, where Tory witnesses Miguel and Sam accidentally kiss and this is what really fills her up with rage and revenge. When the school fight breaks out, Tory fights Sam while Robby fights Miguel thinking he took too much advantage of Sam. Sam beat Tory and Miguel was going to break Robby’s arm but let him go by thinking about what Johnny told him, but Robby immediately gets up and kicks Miguel over the balcony, then runs away. In Season 3, Robby gets caught by the police and thinks that Daniel set him up, while spending his brutal time in Juvy, Miguel is paralyzed but trying to get his legs to start working again, and Cobra Kai is one of the biggest Dojo’s in the valley but Miguel never intends to join them again and continues to stick with Johnny. When he finally learns to walk again, him and Sam begin to reconcile and they eventually get back together. Robby is unaware of this when he gets out and he refuses to be anywhere Daniel or Johnny, but after his visit from John Kreese, he joins Cobra Kai. When he finds out that Miguel and Sam got back together, that’s what fills him and Tory with more rage and that’s why Robby is considered Harry Osborn (New Goblin) and Tory is the Venom of Season 3 since she also has so much jealousy in her and seeks to get revenge.
